next question is is it possible to overeat fruits and vegetables i'm not sure how much i should eat
it's a really good question um some people get concerned if they're eating too much fruit some
people get concerned if they're eating too much vegetables they feel like they're lacking protein
but the truth is we don't eat enough fruits and vegetables a human race doesn't eat enough fruits
and vegetables and leafy greens, basically.
So the bottom line is, look, let's be honest here.
We only have close to about 80,000 meals in a lifetime.
I've said this before.
You know, if many of you have heard some of the work I've done.
So 80,000 meals per lifetime, that's not a lot.
That's not a big number.
So think about 80,000.
That's not a big number at all.
80,000 marbles, 80,000 grains of rice.
Is that a lot?
80,000 corn kernels, that's nothing.
$80,000, it might seem like a lot of money, but compared to billions of dollars, right?
80,000 hair on our head, hairs on our head.
So it's not really a large number when you think about it.
So that means that every meal has to be beneficial.
Every meal has to be fruitful and vegetable-ful.
So that's the bottom line.
So we kind of get lost.
We get lazy.
We usually do it.
When it comes down to fruit, we usually do a lunchbox, what, apple in the lunchbox,
if we're lucky, a couple times a week.
That's been the usual thing.
Maybe over the holiday, we'll have a clementine or an orange.
I mean, some people, I mean, I've talked to a lot of people over the years, a lot,
And I've seen some people not have a piece of fruit for a year.
And not because they were avoiding it.
They weren't purposely avoiding it.
The only fruit they got was a little bit of strawberry on their strawberry shortcake.
Or, you know, or some berries and some yogurt once in a while.
And maybe some fake berries and some yogurt.
Some, you know, really bad cheap yogurt with fake berry syrup in there.
so it wasn't like they were purposely avoiding it but it's easy to avoid fruits and vegetables
so how much are you eating really you know and for the person asking the question how much are
you eating anyway is it one apple a day and a banana so you know we have to realize that
there's always room for more there's always room for more fruit and vegetables the same thing goes
with vegetables. The funny thing is people can live their life and have peas and corn and think
they had their vegetables. They can have peas with a piece of chicken and then some peas and some
corn and maybe some broccoli once in a while, three times a week some broccoli. And is that
enough vegetable? No, it's not. And so maybe you're one that eats a salad once a day. Well,
that's a great start, but there should be fruits and vegetables in every meal, in every course,
in order to do what's right to make up for those other meals that weren't so good all these years.
Depends on your age too.
If you're 30 years old, you may have not eaten that great for 30 years,
which constitutes how many meals weren't positively with a good quality.
They weren't that great.
They weren't that positive.
Where it makes up that 80,000 meal lifetime chart I'm talking about.
See, if you miss out out of those 80,000 meals and you miss out on 20,000 of them because they're poor choices and poor meals, we got some making up to do.
We really do.
So, yes, there's never too many fruits and vegetables and leafy greens.
And leafy greens fall into the vegetable department.
That's what we want.
and fruits fall into cucumbers tomatoes squash winter squash um butternut squash all the different
funny ones delicata kabocha squash um red red curry spaghetti squash those are all fruits
um you know zucchinis crookneck um all those are fruits too so that's that's the whole thing there
um you know we need that in there and same with vegetables we need our leafy greens when we can
We need our steamed vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus is a really good one.
So you just have to, I mean, look, asparagus alone, people eat that three times a year, I find out.
Three times a year they'll have asparagus.
Is that enough?
It's not enough, especially since asparagus is one of the most anti-cancerous, fighting, powerful foods.
One of them on the planet.
not the most powerful you know cancer fighting food but one of them so what do we do well we
have to increase our fruits and vegetables to answer the question we just do we have to get
enough of them the more you eat of them the better off you are that's where your fiber is where else
is the fiber going to come from as in fiber what keeps us healthy in the intestinal tract yeah
absolutely so it's a really good question and it i'm passionate about it because you know i've seen
people go through half their life, three quarters of their life with a little bit, some peas and
some corn and some chicken. I mean, I'm not saying anything's wrong with that at all. I'm just saying
there's room to grow there. And then I've seen people think they're doing like amazing when
they're doing that one salad a day and they're having, you know, one apple a day, one salad,
a big salad and that's not enough either so you want to get some berries some apples some dates
some avocado that's a fruit avocado in the vegetable department you want the asparagus
artichokes you steam up some artichokes and then you go with some tubers too tubers are great as
well there's different kinds of potatoes there's a purple potatoes that are really powerful for
your health there's all kinds of different ways of getting better foods in you and and it's
important. You want the herbs too, which is kind of the leafy green herbs. You want the cilantro,
parsley. You want dill. That's another one. So yes, there's always room for improvement. Don't
be afraid. Don't put a stopper on it. Don't put a break on it. Don't put a breaking system
on your fruits and vegetables. If you like them steamed, you have steamed green beans,
then you steam up green beans. If you do peas and you do like peas, make sure they're not
conventional. That's the one thing about peas. You want them to be organic, not necessarily
because of all sprays, because they'll be less likely to be GMO. And so, you know, there's,
there's room here. There's room to play. There's room to use different vegetables and, um, and you
take it one, one day at a time, but that's the best way of looking at it. The best way of handling
it. Fantastic question. Awesome. Great, great.
